That is good to know. Found a couple sliders for under $50 fairly close. Should I plan on buying a new gasket, or will one from a 94-96 have a good gasket?

Was it out in the heat & sun like in AZ or was it kept in a garage in NH during the summer sun & heat and never out of said garage during the winter?
After pulling my rear slider a few weekends ago and how hard & dried out it was I will not use it to install the slider. Then again the slider glass seals are also dried out so I will buy a new slider or install the non-slider glass & seal from the parts truck but want a slider.
So it is up to you how you want to go on the seal if cheap I would go new.

Ok let me do this quickly, 1am get up time comes way too soon!
Get thickish string that will soak up liquid soap. It will fit into the new rubber where the pinch weld (body lip) will go, have it over lap at the top a foot or two and have more string to grab onto for pulling.
It also helps to have a helper.
Soak the string in liquid soap and wile that is soaking fit the new rubber around the glass if non-slider or window frame if slider.
Once the rubber is on the glass/frame fit the string around the rubber. Remember to over lap at the top of rubber.
Now with helper if you have one fit the bottom of the glass/frame rubber on the pinch weld like it should be installed. If you can get 1 corner in the rubber and the bottom that would be great.
Now at the top with the helper on the outside pushing in a little on the rubber and you inside start pulling the string in a way to pull the rubber lip over the pinch weld.
work a little 1 side then the other all the way around pulling the rubber lip inside the truck to set the pinch well in the rubber.
The last lower corner that did not get in the rubber when you first set the glass in place may give you a hard time but thinking that would be the last part with a little pushing and the string pulling it should pop in place.
That is how I did VW Bug glass all the time and the side glass on my 75 AMC Gremlin as it uses a rubber seal like out trucks rear glass.
When I pull my slider back a few weeks ago I did just the opposite. I worked the rubber with putty knives pushing it outside the pinch weld starting at the top. I had no help so when all I had was the bottom still sitting on the pinch weld I just lifted the glass & rubber up and out.
It was a job as the rubber was hard and don't know if I could reuse it. That is why I say go new rubber it is easier to work with.
See if there are Youtube videos on installing glass with rubber seals.
He starts at the bottom guess either will work.
