Door latch cable, elec lock R&R

I have seen the video to remove the latch. I'm not sure how to disconnect the electric lock actuator connector or wires. The guy in the video from A1Auto mentions disconnecting wires if you have elec locks but that's all. I've seen the diagram of the actuator assembly but it's still not clear what needs to be disconnected if anything. Does anyone have info on this?

The connector for the actuator is pretty standard. Just release the tab and disconnect it.

Thanks. Once I disconnect the link to the actuator(and other linkage), the latch should come out? I don't need to be concerned with the wires to the actuator? My main purpose is to replace the door latch cable.

I don't know, I've never had to remove the latch or replace the cable. If you look inside the door with a flashlight or mirror it should be pretty evident what needs to happen to replace the cable.

I had to drill out the rivet that holds the lock actuator to the door. The linkage from the actuator to the latch is U shaped. I couldn't see any way to rotate the latch to get it off the actuator linkage with removing the actuator. It wasn't too difficult removing. I'll find out soon enough how difficult it will be to put it back.

Replaced cable, broken door handle and striker. Door is still a little hard to open from inside and out. Door hinges seem fine, no play in door. No cracks in door. Adjusted striker but didn't make any difference. Not sure what else to try. Any ideas?

Have you tried lubricating it? WD40 works good to loosen things up, but will likely need re applied later.

I originally used white lithium grease but later sprayed a little WD40. I will use a little more WD40 and see if that helps.

It's conceivable the latch mechanism itself may just be worn out.

I've noticed I can give the door an extra push or pull when I try to open the door and it will open. Your thought?

Might be a maladjusted striker or a worn latch mechanism, I don't really know.

Made a minor adjustment to the striker and it opens much better. It closes a little harder but I can live with that.
