Been getting a drop of motor oil every night from the bellhousing. Just one drop, but I'm **** out my driveway being clean!
Traced it back to the CMP sensor (camshaft position) on the front driver-side behind the PS pump. It's covered in grime. The engine block above it is clean so I'm pretty sure it's the culprit. No issues with the sensor, truck runs fine, so I'm thinking just pull the sensor and replace the O-rings. Does anyone have the part number for the O-rings? I can only find the whole sensor itself, which really isn't that expensive ($40) but if it ain't broke why fix it?
Also, what's the easiest way to access the CMP? From below looks like a royal PITA. Perhaps remove the air filter & battery and come in from the top?
I undid the bolt from the bottom with just a 8mm shallow socket and 1/4" drive ratchet, then removed/installed it while working through the fender liner
