2nd try. 0.125 aluminum is too thick for these dies but it turned out okay.

In my never-ending quest for more power I decided to turn down my delivery valves to make them "Full cuts". This should be good for another 50cc's of fuel. If you can get 2 hp per cc then this would be an awesome free upgrade. Even at 1 or 1.5hp per cc this would be nice. A full cut delivery valve is one that has had the shoulder removed and allows unrestricted flow to the injectors. They are not good for the street becuase they haze at idle and smoke on the top, but since this truck hasn't seen much street use in the last year or so it would be not such a problem

No turning back now

Stock 131 delivery valve before on left and after on right

I switched out those delivery valves today. Huge jump in power! I can hit 40psi of boost at the line, I could only hold 20psi before. It pegs the 100psi boost guage before the 2nd gear shift. Max boost before was 70ish.

100 PSI of boost?! That seems like a lot. How much can that motor take?

Boost is one thing but drive pressure is what you need to watch. Head gasket failure is the issue but we'll see if it holds up. If it stays together then I'll bump the timing up, I think it's at 26btdc and might go to 32.

If the weather stays good then we are going to try racing again Friday night. I have a new strategy to maybe get my 60 foot times down. Can't wait

The old truck has been sitting for a while now, maybe 2 months or so. Battery is dead so I pulled the hood cable and it snapped right at the handle. Needless to say but I didn't hook the charger up, I just shut the door and went home

I feel your pain. I have a 79 Camaro it took me over a year to put floor pans in it. Something stupid like that would happen and I would stop work, go in the house, and shut the garage door. Might be 3 months before I get back to it. I have found it is best to walk away when a project starts to **** me off. Plenty of other toys to play with.

I haven't looked into how to open the hood on these old trucks without the cable. I hope it isn't too much hell for you.

It's just how it goes sometimes.
I orders a new cable today, I have used ones but maybe it's better to put a new one on. Like 30 dollars, hopefully it's easy to change.

I got some more gofast stuff. These are 5x22 injectors, I'm currently running 5x18's.
