When I started this project I didn't know much about diesels. I had an 03 6.0 crew dually that I ran the country in running stainless pipe jobs. It proved to be very unreliable, ATS tranny and a chip, ran good when it ran. Just couldn't depend on it. Heard about these Cummins swaps and it was on.

I pulled the batteries out today and put them each on a charger. 1.5 hours brought them up to 12.9v so I took them in to be tested at Wal-Mart where I had originally bought them. 1 tested bad right away, the other they said need to be charged so another 1 hour I waited. It was bad too. 1 was 3 years old and then other was 4...5 year warranty. I received a $7.50 credit toward 2 batteries, I don't know how it worked out and after the week I had at work I didn't feel like agruing so I paid 200 something and left disgruntled.

Bought september 7th 2018. For the record. Lets see if we get 3 years on these

Changed the trays out for some I blasted and p.o.r.15'd a few months ago

Rained out last night. September 21st is the next pull. I think I'm going to bump the timing up to 30 degrees for that run. Could be the last one I make this year.

I had some time to work on making a shroud for some electric fans. I have 4 but I'm gonna try 2 at first and add more if needed. I'm running a 95 amp alternator and I might be straining it

Just 10 inch eBay specials. I have 2 15 inch flex-a-lites but can't fit them in between the radiator and water pump

I got the radiator and the fans installed today. I filled it with straight distilled water to check for leaks and to be sure it didn't blow a head gasket on that last pull. It ran for 20 minutes on the trailer and the thermostat opened but never got warm enough for the fans to kick on. No leaks and no bubbles from a head gasket. I still need to build a holder for the upper hose to keep it level and tight.

No screw style hose clamps. Im gonna try this setup

That is a screwy looking hose clamp. Makes me nervous looking at it. Keep us informed on how it holds up.

It's supposed to be a better way to go, We'll see. It's diffently not faster...sweated pretty good while doing them. I almost gave up BUT pushed on. Extra clamps in the glove box

I got a chance to do some sweet sheet metal work. It's the hose holder that goes on top of the radiator fan bracket. Anyway it didn't go so good. There was a bit of a learning curve. The first attempt became a test piece.
