Watch it. Drag racing is addictive. Why do you have to wait 3 weeks? At the track down the road they have 'Test n Tune' every Friday night. No racing, just everyone running their cars. Good time to sort out the issues and get to know the vehicle on the track. See if your track has a Test n Tune weekly.

It'll be 3 weeks because I have to work nights next weekend and days the weekend after. This was test and tune , racing happens on Saturday night I believe. I see how it can be addictive, we had a lot of fun and learned some stuff. Good times

So after my bad reaction times I downloaded a drag race tree app. I did it just like I did at the track. Same results of .6 or worse. Turns out you have to go before the green light. I seen the green before I left the line. Shows my inexperience. I'll keep using this app to hone this skill until I can get back to the track.

I hit it when the last yellow light lights up. I usually get a good reaction.

I think I can get this truck into the 7s with better reactions. I think I'll write a tune for the tranny to lock the converter at 85% tps. That'll be locked at the line after the brakes are released. That up the possibility of broken parts but also better 60 foot times. That white duramax would jump me on the line and he had nothing so there is diffently a problem there

Do you know where your revs are at the big end of the track? I see 81 to 83 mph, so high end of 3rd gear? Also I couldn't tell but if you are still running all 4 duals I would lose the outside 2. That way you lose some rotational mass, and should help acceleration.

I couldn't see the tach because the dash lights were not working. But I don't think it hit 4th till 92 at 100% tps.
I could take the outer duals off, I could also remove 400lbs of speaker box but I want it to be fast as is, you know what I mean? If I strip it down then it wouldn't feel right. Just the way I see it

Well, you could look at it like this. I change the rear tires on my nova for the strip because the ones for the street aren't right for the track. It also happens that the rims for those tires are lighter too. When racing, the only rule is don't get caught breaking the rules lol.

Sometimes I think about putting this engine in a single cab 4x4 just to see what it would do. I bet it would be fun but it' also neat seeing a big dumb dually moving like it does

Maybe 1 day I'll strip it down to bare minimum and see what it does. 6 drag slicks would be neat too,but not needed yet
