So with this next engine and the extra air from the turbos. It ran good, really good but I needed more. I went from 16 degrees of timing to 28.5. Better, and it cleaned the smoke up pretty good so I raced that chevy again. By this time he had a tune and exhaust I think. Man he was right there with me again. Sucked cuase I thought I had him. Time went by, maybe months. Then I got some 5x18's and some delivery valves from Bigblue24 out in Vegas. Took it out and it 95lbs boost!! For like 2 seconds then pow! Sounded like a so gun. Cheap ebay silicone boot blew apart

Then after the tubes ot changed around to where they didn't blow apart or even off so much I figured I should start building a real transmission that could hold some power before I tore this stock good one up. I found a couple good cores to build and while searching craigslist again .....in Tennessee no less I found a new suncoast 48re with all the goodies. It was still one the pallet it was shipped on and the guy changed his mind and was sticking with his manual. Had a pcs controller and everything I needed. Craigslist. ...who knew.

After several more headgaskets and high egts that could easily melt it down...engine number 3. Open bowl marine pistons to lower the compression. Oringed the block with an isky tool. Milled the intake off for a good port and polish. 110lb springs. Oringed the head too. Built an exhaust header and added a wastegate to control the boost. Hx60 under an hx52. Was hitting 90lbs before the wastegate

Tried my hand at a local truck pull a couple of weeks ago. Didn't go so good. Couldn't figure out if I should run the transfer case in high or low. See I had just swapped out the married 205 for an np271 out of a superduty. Had to swap the input shaft of the case for an input out of a manual transmission dodge for an np271. This setup is supposed to be one of the strongest ways to go so now I can do 4x4 boosted launches. We'll anyway I ran high side and programed the tranny for the converter to lock at 10 mph and stay locked on the 2nd gear shift and then hold 2nd. This was the first real test of the truck and there was a number of possible weak links. I was mainly worried about blowing a boot.

I was put into the 9500lb class and only weighed 7300lbs. It took off good and solid but never grabbed 2nd and then holding that boost for that long , with all the heat I guess made the boot hot on the big turbo and blew it off. 185ft. Turns out I burnt the 2nd gear band. It was a billet suncoast kevlar deal. Burnt all the kevlar right off. The one in the back is the one that replaced it.....it was 15 bucks compared to the 150 dollar one. Upgrade. Been holding good since
