A Goober and a Welder= My Truck

It's no biggie but now I've broken every piece except for the carrier it's self. This 80 is huge. By taking the sterling out and losing the overloads and then putting the 80 in the Truck went from 7200lbs to 7364lbs on the scale. I took the Truck to a pull Saturday night. It was running late and the mayor of the town said they would fine the pulling officials if it wasn't done by midnight. So at 11pm the diesel trucks finally got to pull and to save time they quit grooming the track. Just backing the sled and hooking. I was number 16 in my class of 22. By the time I got to hook the track had so many potholes that I was bouncing around and I bounced good at 250 or so and gave up. The sled almost hit me. 269 feet. I don't mind breaking it on a clean and fair pull but not just because they were rushing us. Some tame street trucks pulled better than I did but I didn't push it. 2 more pulls this year then hopefully I can get mine apart and get to some cool stuff

Believe me it got way worse. That's a clean picture. 4 hours to do two wheels And they put they 2 inners on backwards and I had to pull them back off and retorque them. Makes me want to buy a tire machine. Let me check Craigslist real quick. Those wheels fixed the terrible vibravibration by the way

Hah! There doesn't appear to be anything "light" about that moon!
Hopefully that D80 will hold up to the abuse. And I would agree you did the sensible thing taking it easy on an un-groomed track. No sense in breaking it first time out because of something stupid like that. When they get to bouncing, the parts tend to go flying...

Then on the way back to town. 20psi launch. It had way more power. Also had a HUGE 3rd gear flair. Let off and got into overdrive and cruised on in to town. Couple of stop signs and it just didn't do right. By the time I got into my street I stopped and put it in 4low, hubs unlocked. That way it would shift quick through the gears. Stayed in like 2nd or something. Didn't shift anyway like it should. Pulled up to my house and tried reverse and had nothing. Nothing in drive either. Big pull Sunday and it'll be hard to find good parts in time but I'll pull it out early in the morning and see what it needs

Well it's together good enough. 2nd gear is burnt and the valve body was full of clutch material. There is not any diagrams of a suncoast/pcs valve body any where on the internet. Cleaning the valve body took most of the day. I couldn't get a good 2nd gear band today so it went back together with out one. I'll write a program tomorrow morning for the pull. I'll either start in first and skip to third or start in third with the converter unlocked till enough boost is built to lock it without sniffing the flame. Might be a bust but we'll find out together.
