Restoration progresses.....slowly

Wheels look fantastic especially with the bright polish. 1995-97 wheels? Looks like they belong there.

Boss....not much to go as far as new photos. The interior should be done in a couple weeks, so I’ll put up more photos after that. It will be simple, but definitely one of a kind, using the 2010 fabric that matches the seats. Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. Funny thing is, when I started disassembling this truck four years ago, it seems like all I could think of was wheels! So I bought these about three years ago fram the back of a little old tire shop in a small town outside of bakersfield.....and looked at them every day I worked on the project, looking forward to the day I could mount them! They were really oxidized, but came back nice. They’re the correct bolt pattern for the 66, so they must be around 80’s vintage....I think.

Near done....interior
Photos at this point, of the finished interior. The headliner shell was from Hot Rod Doors...and fit very nicely. I especially like the contoured fit as opposed to the original. The door panels, kicks, cab rear and headliner covering were done by Central Coast Upholstery in Paso Robles, CA.

Great question...funny answer. The upholsterer, other than discussing it in general, had no specifics on what he would come up with until they actually got into the job. I had good recommendation and just trusted that it would be well done....that's it. I didn't know what I was getting until I went to pick it up and, fortunately, I'm very pleased! The only limitations I suggested were, that it would be a fairly simple design and that they use the same fabric as in the seats and center console.

Every once in a while I need to come back and view your pics to get a bit of motivation on my own projects. One of the nicest Restored 65-66 Trucks out there! Would like to see it someday.
Drive it much?

Boss: I appreciate the very kind comments! Yes, I do drive it quite a bit even though it’s not my daily. I’m very happy with how it runs, rides, the quietness of the cab and the engine power. I would do it all the same again if I were to start over. Fortunately...I don’t have to!! And you are welcome to see it if ever passing through central Cal....just pm me. Thanks again for your vote. Not enough time, energy or material for a video.....

Resonateur the interior is phenomenal and definitely would take many awards! I have mentioned before that your build has inspired me while working on mine, I have struggled with the interior for some time now, as far as deciding what to do. If I could mirror yours I would since we are on opposite sides of the US. Unfortunately I can’t with the 5 speed and console but I will say every time I look at your truck I am amazed at how awesome it has turned out. Great work !
