Well, having done much of what he has to my 59 F250 4x4, I don't think $4000-$5000 s out of line. You can pour more than that into one real fast just to get it drivable.
And FWIW, even a really nice IDI diesel would have a hard time bringing $4000-$5000 around here.

Down here, its generally true that you can get nice trucks for less than that, haha. If he said $3000, id be all over it.
Mine is a Montana truck too. After replacing hoses, belts, water pump, fuel pump, starter relay, freeze plugs, clutch master & slave, gas tank filler rubber, cap, float. and fixing all the wiring, cleaning mouse nests from heater, clutch, cab-replacing seat, doing complete tune up and carb rebuild and it still needs brakes, tires and a T-case and I wouldn't take 3 grand for it. I would have been better off spending 5 grand for one I could drive instead of $800 for one that needed brought back.
