F250-F350 ride

I'm looking to here from people that have ridden in both a 4wd 250 and 350 srw on how the ride compared. On my next truck I'm thinking I may get a 350 for the extra payload this time but not sure depending on ride as it is a everyday driver for me. I would almost like a long bed but that is not all to grate for city driving.

Drove both in a long bed about a week apart. Not a rememberable noticeable difference driving the same route a week apart.

They will not ride any different unloaded whatsoever. The only difference now between a 350 and a 250 is the sticker on the door, the badge on the fender, and the overload spring on the 350 that the 250 does not have. However, that overload spring doesn't come into play until a heavy load is placed in the bed.

I had two 2016 Super Duty diesels, both Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4. One was an XLT 350 and one was a King Ranch 250. Both rode identically with the same tire size and manufacturer.

I have not driven a 2017 F-250, but my 2017 F-350 dually rides harshly over rough pavement, as you'd expect. It just feels a little tighter than the previous gen trucks did.

That is what I thought but I was not positive if both used the same spring rates/spring packs. Good to know I may go a 350 this time if the reg. rates are not much more then the 250

the 350 now is diff from 250, has one extra leaf spring besides the overload on top, and different dana rear axle, which is an available upgrade on the 250 with a certain package

Good point, Kubota. I guess if you buy a gas 250 or a base diesel, you get the carryover Sterling 10.5 rear end. Didn't know anything about an extra leaf, that's great.

I didn't even know I was in a F350 until I got back from the test drive. I took for granted it was F250 due to how smooth it was. I don't think you will notice a difference as I sure didn't. It rides better than any F250 I've owned in the past. I'm thrilled I bought an F350.

The 250 even w/the diesel does NOT come with the M275 axle unless you get the heavy tow package which gives you the heavier axle/spring pack. The 350 comes standard with the M275 axle/spring pack. I did not realize this until after my initial order and on another thread learned of the 2 different axles used and because of that changed my order. If you get a 250 w/the heavy tow package you are essentially getting a 350 WITHOUT the heavier sticker rating on the door. That's the only difference IF you get the heavy tow pkg on the 250. If you don't get the heavy tow pkg then the 250 has a lighter axle/spring package on the rear which I would guess would be softer due to the lesser weight rating.

** The option is roughly $1100 which is exactly the same as going on up to an F350 which is what I did when changing my order.
