Alternate Fuel - CNG System Questions

Hi All,

Anyone out there have a factory dual fuel vehicle using unleaded gas and CNG ? I have a '96 E350 (former GSA fleet vehicle) and I have some questions about the CNG system operation.

Main questions so far:

1. Is there any sort of fuel level indication for the CNG system ?

2. Does filling the CNG system work like gasoline in that you can put only as much as you want or do you fill it full each time based on some system measurement like pressure ?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Terry

There should be a pressure gauge on the tank, if it is visible. If there are wires coming out of a sensor on the tank, it is wired to the gauge.

Natural gas can not be compresed to liquid form at ambient temperatures, so only way to know how much is in tank is by pressure reading, BUT pressure readings are wide afected by temp, so if your gas tank receive direct sun, or it is located side to exhaust system, readings will change also with tank temperature :-s
