Plenty of people are happy with 3.73's. They would just be happIER, with 4.30's....or 4.56....or 4.88's.

I can get onboard with how this was phrased. I am perfectly happy with my 3.73’s but I’m sure 4.10’s wouldn’t suck either. I’d never go to 4.30’s or 4.56’s because I don’t tow heavy enough or often enough to kill my highway RPM’s with the shorter gearing but for sure if I were to buy a new truck I would consider the 4.10’s. However I’m not buying a new truck and am perfectly happy with my 3.73’s

I am ecstatically happy with my 6.2/4.30 drivetrain. I have been seeing around 12.5 mpg on highway and not running 65 mph either. Brief bursts to 90 to pass, etc. That truck flat runs when necessary to open it up. Runs just beautiful.
IMHO, I think the 4.30s with 34" tires is just perfect. It would be nice to see exact 2000 rpm at 75, but it turns 2200 at 75 and I am OK with that. Since I knew I wanted to run a tire at around 34" tall when I ordered the truck, I figured the 4.30s would be just about right to enable keeping the engine running in its best part of the powerband and as it turns out, I got really lucky and it is absolutely perfect. For me. Have not towed with the truck yet. I expect it will just put its shoulders into the load and git it done just fine. To me, a 6.2 with 4.30 axles and around 34" tires is just the perfect combination for a Ford F250 gasser.

4.10's aren't available from the factory. It's either 3.73 or 4.30. With a double overdrive, it's not a highway killer at all. If you have larger tires, you lose nothing. If you have smaller tires, you may lose .5-1 mpg when empty and running 70+. If you are doing a lot of empty interstate driving, you probably bought the wrong vehicle, lol. I easily average 12++mpg on the interstate at 75-80 with 4.88's and 37s, which is nearly identical to a small tire 4.30 truck. This is exactly what dad has in his regular cab, and he can average 16 no problem on road trips with a bed full of tools.

The only thing I miss about going from 3.73 to 4.30 is slightly better fuel mileage when empty and towing light which is almost never. I never had a problem with my 3.73 but I had the 31 inch tires. like others have said, 3.73 shouldn't be an option on this truck. The 4.30s really wake it up

Thanks! I haven't met a spot yet I couldn't get it backed in. Even in some older tight campgrounds. I think I commented on your pilgrim before. Those were nice units. My father had one similar to yours. He loved it. Still says it was his favorite. I gotta ask does your truck have a level kit? What size tires you running?
