Bronco II stalls when put in 4x4!!

I have a 1984 Bronco II 4x4 with the 2.8L V6. When I put it in 4x4 and try to go, it will stall out. If I keep gas pressed pretty hard and it's not under any load like going through mud it will try to go but not always. Please help!!!

I dont believe so. It will go in reverse but not forward. Could carburetor cause any issues like this?

No. Not if it runs fine in reverse. It runs fine forward in 2wd?

It runs fine in 2wd. So it seems that the more I've driven it, the issue has stopped. I've had no issues lately with it wanting to die when in 4x4 now.
