96 351 external parts work on my 91

I purchased a 96 E-350 van with a 351W to rebuild for my 91 F-250 truck. What I am wondering is if the timing cover and oil pan off the 96 are the same as the 91 and can be used. It would just save me time when I swap engines if I could already have oil pan and timing cover on engine. Thanks for any info

Short answer is no.
The pan off the van will have the sump at a different location than the truck.
The timing cover should be the same for both 351 engines.

You sure? I bought, or what I was told I bought, a 95' 5.8L out of an E350. Same oil pan as my F150. The dipstick and oil fill were definitely from a van, so I trust the seller to some degree.

Well after dragging 96 pan under truck and comparing as far as shape it will work no probkem. The only difference is the 91 truck pan had these baffle like things in it.
