Looking for info on super cooling radiators
I have a 77 F150 4x4 with a new 400 Engine in it. I was given a super cooling radiator with the engine but have a few problems. This thing has a front mounting flange as opposed to my stock rear mounting flange but it did fit into the radiator support and lined up with some holes in the front of the support.
It appears to sit low in the truck protruding down almost below the bumper. Is that normal? Now my stock lower radiator hose won't reach that far. It's about 1 - 1.5" short. Is there a specific hose made for this radiator? My stock hose is about 19 inches along its length.
...or am I to be relegated to searching through scores of hoses in the stores trying to find a reasonable match?

Here's mine.
EDIT: I checked the parts catalog and it shows the super cooling radiator takes a different hose than a truck with standard cooling or extra cooling.
Also, I don't know how it's abbreviated in parts store catalogs, but in the Ford catalog, the abbreviation "S/C" is standard cooling, not super cooling. In the catalog, the super cooling is listed as "super X/C" (super extra cooling).

Sounds like the normal position for the super cooling radiator, those things are tall.
Here's mine.

Mounted the radiator yesterday...I lost a whole day cause of that stupid hurricane. I got my hose at Napa; just failed to read the fine print on my first glance at the website.
A friend commented that the radiator was leaning. It mounted straight but I never noticed that the frame and cooling coils are not parallel. The coils are leaning back toward the truck a few degrees relative to the radiator frame. Any reason for this?

Super Cooling radiator has a HUGE top tank, measures approx. 26 1/4" wide x 24 1/4" high.
Standard/xtra cooling & A/C radiators measure approx. 26 1/4" wide x 19 3/4" high.
