Hi, First post and appreciate all the experts on this site.


I have a 1997 RV with a E450 chassis. On the way back from last trip started hearing a whine that sounds like a gear whine right between the seats and seems like Transmission area. I used neutral while coasting downhill and gear whine sounds the same and not affected by RPM either. Also some times when I hit a bump it goes away and sometimes hit a bump and it comes back. So far I haven't had any luck finding source. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.


If anyone in Phoenix AZ area know a good truck shop to look at it would be great. I hate taking my RV to RV dealers for Chassis issues.

 

Do you have the e brake at the back of the trans? That takes its own fluid, fill plug on left side. Just a thought.

 

I don't know but will check tomorrow and go through my ford manual to see how to check and fill. Thanks. Great advice.
