1977 F500 Crew Cab Diesel
Just bought this tRuck and looking for any info that could help
1977 F500 crew cab 3208 Cat 4-speed with a 4-speed brownie box and air brakes
If memory serves me right 1977 was the last year for the F500, the 3208 only came in the F700 or bigger, the F500 didn't come with air brakes, and came with a single trans with optioned 2 speed rear, and big 5 buds not Dayton's. Help!

VIN is missing a digit, should have 11 .. The first 6 digits are probably correct, so one of the last 5 numbers is missing.

1973/77 F500's were not available as Crew Cabs, or with any diesel engine or air brakes.
Considering all these factors, and the fact the VIN decodes to a 1975, you need to compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate (known as the Warranty Number) to the VIN on the registration and to the hidden frame VIN to see if they all match.
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.
F50 = F500 (gas).
C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.
C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.
WXXXXX = 1975 (1975 serial number range: U80,001-X60,000).
158" Wheelbase.
COLOR = Blank ~ Painted a non standard color.
F503 = F500 (gas) .. 19,200 lbs. GVWR
4 8: 4 = Black Vinyl / 8 = 81A Standard Cab.
M = Clark model 285-V 5 Speed Direct.
66 = Rockwell (Timken) model F-106 Single Speed Rear Axle / 7.20-1 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
19,200 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
588328:
58 = Twin Cities MN Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
8328 = Domestic Special Order number, truck special ordered by the original purchaser (due to the non standard exterior paint color), not "bought off the lot."
