Purchased 6 one-gallon jugs of Rotella T-6 from Wal-Mart, filled out the online rebate form, attached a copy of my receipt as instructed. Got a post card today denying the rebate "did not qualify for the Shell Rotella Fall Synthetics Rebate offer based on the following: Did not pay for Oil Changes and or product due to store discounts."

Just so you know.....

 

You didn't mention if you purchased it for a discounted price ?

 

I finally started doing the mymilesmatter where you log in the numbers inside the cap. So a few months later when I went to add some more my rewards miles had dropped from 800 to 550.

 

Any chance there was a discount due to buying 6? I know the rebate has a limit (4?) and I did a mail order with WM earlier in the year and had no problem getting the rebate money...

Just my experience.

 

Might have been a Wal-Mart special-3 1-gallon jugs for $53 or so--But nowhere on the rebate page does it mention discounts or oil change required. Wasn't trying to rip 'em off--it was their offer.

 

Stupid rebate games.
I have gotten bit more that once and don't do them anymore.
In store instant is the only way to go.

I agree, that doesn't seem right. It should take a significant reason not to honor a rebate. You might want to call them and ask for a legitimate reason they denied it.

 

I got one back from PNY computer products. The reason they gave is that
I had not filled in the address. My question about that reason is how did
the manage to send it back to me if I did not fill int the address???

I put a full set of Gabriel shocks on my old 87 Ranger from Auto Zone. It was something like buy 2 get 2 free or Buy 3 get 1 free... something like that.

Filled out the card and went ahead and sent the original receipt. Get a reply stating the receipt was insufficient and to send a copy of the receipt. ???????

Made mental note to never buy Gabriel shocks again.

Rebates and dealer games , I received a large card with 4 scratchers on it from our local dealer, scratched them , yea 1000 bucks wait read the small print , only when you bring in a trade for a new 6.7 they will apply 1000 to the tax, license , recovery fees , paper work fees , toilet paper fees , Maintence fees , car washer guys lunch, it will be in next weeks fire starting pile

 

This rotella rebate is the only reason I bought the rotella this time. If they deny my rebate I'll never buy their fakkin oil again.

 

Got burned on Shell rebate last year, they told me I had exceeded maximum gallons, was two gallons.
BS excuse but I don't have 20 minutes to spend on the phone, and they bank on the fact most folks won't take the time to dispute it.
I going to give Schaeffers a shot anyway, and for what T6 prices are rising to lately it helps me justify the price difference.

 

I had the same problem with the rebate on my Rancho RS 9000 shocks. Never even heard back from them.

 

Oh yeah Rancho screwed me to. I bought 5ks for the front of my explorer and 9ks for the rear and they wouldn't give me the rebate of buy 3 get 1 free because they were not all the same. Hell I spent more money than I would out I had just bought 5ks all around for it. It's bs.
