Towing with 2017 Super Duty
The primary reason for this post is to mention that the new SD trucks are taller than the 16 and before trucks. In my case the bed is 2 inches taller and the bed sides have been raised an additional inch...meaning I had to adjust my hitch to compensate for the 1 inch higher sides and somehow adjust my TH to maintain a level attitude while towing.
Since there were practical reasons that lowering the truck 3 inches was not a good solution the answer was to raise the TH. My axles are mounted under the springs so flipping the axles would not work. I had to go to a frame shop and have them remove all suspension mounts, install a 3" spacer ( 2x3 tubing ) then reinstall the suspension mounts. This resulted in additional sideward flex and necessitated adding bracing between the lower portion of the suspension mounts to limit this flex.
The long and short of this is that in most cases this will not be a do it yourself in the driveway job. Measure, measure and measure again and understand what you are going to do to maintain safe towing with your new more capable truck.

Thanks for the video link. Not to bad for installation bit more drilling than I had hoped as I have no power where the trailer is parked. Still worth looking into though.

The single step I would change that makes things much easier is when measuring for the holes on the inside of the bracket (under the RV side), I used a combination square and used it like a depth gauge up from bottom and in from side , setting it on the outside of the bracket first. Then I drilled a pilot on the back side, but finished the hole drilling from the outside. That provides an easy way to make sure the holes outside to inside align and it is a 1000% easier drilling from the outside in than lying underneath.
All and all it is pretty straight forward. If you have a tall enough jack stand to everything hangs it is easier than trying to work the springs back inline without enough height, but it is doable. It really wasn't a problem drilling the frame. That went much more easily than I expected.
