Window weather seal

Ok, so now down to installing the phony a!#/$ door window weather seals. Have you guys figured another way to hold them in place instead of those cheap, phoney little crimp on snaps?. Perhaps just glue or ? Any help is appreciated.

I assume you are referring to the window felts ? If so, I removed all the clips, and glued them in with 3M black adhesive silicone. I cut some small wooden wedges to hold them in place & dry overnight, I only did one felt strip at a time. They are tight secure, it worked out well.
I can't seen to find any pictures for you.

Yes, I am referring to the felts. I have been contemplating using adhesive like you have. Thought about pop rivets. But I don't think I have enough room. How long does it take the adhesive to dry?

Indeed the china made POS clips DO NOT work . The dia. is too small to fit & stay in the holes . Clean up the old original clips , mark the felts with a white chalk where they go , insert clip , crimp on w/ flanging pliers . It works . This was the process done on both trucks .I have some extra original clips if you need some . Later , Denny

I glued one in each door, let that dry overnight then in the morning glued in the remaining two.

I used 3m black weatherstrip adhesive... with this stuff you have to work fast, though. It dries very quick...

This is very informative. I will need to do this soon to my 55 F350. I don't remember having any problems when I did my 54 back in 1999. Were the clips better made back then?

Update. I just glued them on with that 3m stuff. It don't take very long for it to dry. Way better than dealing with them phony clips

I recently rebuilt my doors, including the installation of new felt anit-rattle pieces. I had little difficulty installing them, but I did unattach the window regulator and dropped the glass enough so I could get my fingers in and apply pressure to the buttons to get them to snap in. I also applied a bit of Vaseline to the buttons. It seemed to help.

I looked at the MidFifty catalog today. Their tip is to glue them on!

Does anyone sell the felt with stainless the bead that poprivets to the division bar? MidFifty only sells the deluxe cab or Custom Cab division bar with the stainless finish. The division bars for the standard cabs was painted black. So I want to use my division bars after I repaint them so I just need the felt with the stainless bead. This is for my 55F350.

Is this what you are looking for? No vendor touches Steele for quality.

The only problem I had with my lower felts was in the rear corners. It appeared the metal in that area had been bent away and needed some realignment before installing. To get the clips to pop into place I dropped the glass into the door, held the felt in place then used a fat chisel which, when pushed down, would press the clip into its hole fairly easily.
