Anyone using the Reese 30156 Rail Kit Mounting Adapter?

I just bought the adapter. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a lock instead of the clif pins the come with the kit? I'm concerned someone can just pull the clif pins and steal the 5th wheel hitch and adapter. Any ides would be appreciated.

I use two of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I spray them with silicone and haven't had a problem in 3 years of weather.

I am not using that adapter, but I am looking for a way to lock/secure the Andersen hitch that I just installed.

I've got the Hensley adapter but they are both similar in design. The 2 latching arms (for lack of a better name) are pretty close to the base so a decent sized pad lock would be very hard to work. I just use a very short 1/2" stainless bolt with a nyloc nut to secure it, "most" crooks aren't going to take the time and effort to remove the 2 bolts ..... but again, if they really want your parts and have the time then it's gone.

Yup that's what I was thinking. A pad lock. The silicon on the hold down nuts sounds like a good idea. Thanks if they want to steal it they will figure it out anyway.

Reese make the below pin locks. 4 to a package, for $12.99. Just buy 4 padlocks and your good to go. Part # RP58093. I have these on my hitch. 2 on the hitch head, the other 2 on opposite hitch legs.

I got a matching set of 5 pad locks, use two of them in the lever holes, just for peace of mind.
