Three Year Old Diesel
I've got a 5 gallon plastic tank of diesel that is about three years old. Is there any problem with putting the old diesel in my tank at the next fill up?
I've got an inline Baldwin filter in case that makes a difference.
Thank you.

Diesel is not like gasoline in the sense that it's going to spoil right away. So long as it was a sealed container it will be just fine.

I was given a five gal jug of diesel from a stranger who was moving and didn't want to take it with him. He had no idea how old it was. He has sold his diesel years prior. I put it in my truck and topped off the tank with fresh diesel. Didn't have any problems.
My understanding is diesel does not go bad like gasoline. I think you are ok. Just top the truck tank off with fresh diesel.
Curious what others say.

If this were a 6.7, I'd say don't chance it. With our 7.3L, it's just a big furnace that puffs up it's chest and says "bring it".

Pour it in, top it off, and enjoy the day.
