Here is a vintage pic of my Dad and his 1948 Chevy 3/4 ton 5 window truck. This was taken in 1969.
I am not sure when he bought it. He bought it used. He had it as long as I can remember. I was born in 1955. He used it to drive to work, to haul coal to our house, to haul pigs and cattle to the butcher, to pick rocks and corn in the fields. He sold it in the late 70s or early 80s.

There's a pic of this 1942 Mercury at the end of the assembly line, caption says last 1942 assembled. Ford then switched over to building vehicles for the war effort, trucks and Jeeps for example.
Henry stamped an F on every part that went into Ford assembled Jeeps, as he said he wasn't going to warranty ****** parts.

Thanks. He was a hard worker. He worked nights at the Wilbur Chocolate factory then came home, slept a few hours, got up did farm work, ate supper with us all, took a nap then went to work at 9:15pm. We had a lot of chickens in the chicken house in the background.
And if I had bought my Dad's Chevy before I bought Grandpa's 54 Ford truck I would not know any of you guys here at FTE!
