37 Hood Supports?

37 Hood Supports?
Restoring a '37 Ford 1/2 ton and for the life of me can't figure out if there are/were supposed to be hood supports. Much of the truck came disassembled, so it's quite the jigsaw puzzle. I see a part number in the Green Bible but no picture. I might have it, but dont' know what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep I got all that, but what holds the hood up once installed and you are working on the engine? I see two small pockets on the cowl that look like they would hold the lower panels by the corner but that doesn't seem very elegant. Or paint-friendly ;-)
I ran across this on Speedway. Have seen same item list to include a '37 too.

Now I understand the question. You are correct, the hood just rests in that little area on the cowl. There are rubber pieces that attach to the hood so that you don't immediately destroy your paint: kit part number 48-16761 available from your favorite supplier.
A strong gust of wind at the wrong time can push the hood out of that little depression. I have seen the stainless hood rests in many old Fords, just not one in a 37 truck yet. Definitely use one if you want. Personally I'd paint the stainless black or body color so it doesn't look so street rod-ish.
