Good Book for Beginning Restoration?
Hi Everyone,
I have a 1963 Unibody and want to bring it back to life.
I originally wanted to "modernize" it with a V8, Auto Trans, etc....
The more I think about it, it seems like it would be more simple to just restore it back to original condition (well....close...)
Is there good book that will help me do this in the right order?
The book would not have to be specific to the unibody.
I'm just looking for a book to help me along the way, na d tell me where to start.
By the way....Where do I start?

Welcome to FTE
Don't know why anyone hasn't answered yet. Does it run now? I like to suggest "starting from the ground up". Most people (including myself) have started with engine work, or cosmetics, but it's really more important that anything that can move under its own power be able to stop and handle safely. Tires, brakes, wheel bearings and steering linkage in particular. Its a safe bet the brakes by now are completely shot, wheel bearings need inspection replace/repack, drag link and tie rods worn etc.
I'd recommend getting the reprint Ford Truck Shop Manual, paper copy (or CD) and, an old MoToRs Repair from about 1960 and study them. Make a plan for what you want to do. Have to be sure you want to keep the truck, it will take a while. It can (will) get expensive to do things right, just to make it safe and reliable. If you want it to look nice, even more. Lots more. Plenty of friendly experienced people here to help you along the way. Keep asking questions and take some pics, and post them here.
