New bed now filler neck is too short. Pic of truck done.

I've been on here for many years. Posted a couple really in depth write ups back when I did my cab off head stud job with over 500 pics.

I've had my 04 for over 10 years and I really love my truck. With that said, ny winters aren't very forgiving.. the bed started sagging something fierce in the spring so I decided to keep it and put a bunch of work into it so I can keep it another 10+ years.

Ordered a brand new 2015 short bed straight from ford. My friend Drew at Manley's rods and customs painted it for me and we put a new set of ford fenders on it as well. He corrected the paint on my doors, and cab with a ton of elbow grease and got it all looking spectacular.

Here's my question- the filler neck is about 2- 21/2" too short now. Just wondering if anyone has run into this problem before? A friend of mine replaced an 8' bed on his truck and didn't have this issue so I'm just curious to see if I should try something specific. My gut tells me to just take the filler neck off, remove the rubber pipe, and go to napa and get one that's 2 1/2" longer but I want to make sure I do this right.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here she is almost done-

Getting a rubber hose that is longer is a good fix. Just make sure it's rated for fuel. No reason to over think this as 2.5 inch longer hose will make no difference to the fuel.

I stopped and got a piece of 3/4" hose and a piece of 1 1/2" hose to replace them and it's impossible to get to the top of the tank side of the hoses. Does anyone know if the 2015 filler neck itself is longer than the 2004 filler neck? I really need to get this fixed soon. I don't have very much fuel left. Thanks.

Do you have the filler neck from the 2015 and the 2006? Maybe you need the 2015 neck. When I got my 12 bed for my 09 I made sure to get the neck off the tank JUST in case. I used my 09 neck and filler but it needed new holes in the bed sheet metal to use the 09 metal filler
