I changed the cop's on my 05 Expy, with 180K miles on it. Numbers 1 and 7 had misfires.
After the installation of the new cop's, I took it for a drive. It seemed sluggish, so I kicked her down into passing gear. The fun began. She sputterd, bucked and snorted and stunk like hell. That made me think EGR valve. (When not under a demanding load, it seems okay). Got it home, and let it cool down and checked to see if I left the EGR valve hose off, but we was good there. Checked all my injector and cop connections, and they were good too, then all the other stuff I disconnected...all good.
My next guess would be a bad camshaft phaser? I've only just started reading about them, and see that its a common thing on the 5.4's. My right side (passenger side) seems to rattle pretty good, and noticed it more when I was moving a trailer full of wood and concrete. It really rattled then.
So, if any one can offer any suggestions as to what to look for, I'd appreciate it. Oh yeah, no codes showed up when its running bad.

 

Found out I had some dirt in a connection on left sensor there on front of the valve cover.

 

So all is well?
