patience and timing pays off... found a truck finally!

Well, I was on here about two years ago to date, with big plans on building an F1. My dreams were shattered (well that's slightly exaggerated) when I arrived the there wasn't a single usable piece on the truck. Fast forward two years and my project is on it's way from ND. Can't wait to start digging in. The flatty is stuck on it so I'll see if it just needs a little love or a complete rebuild... I'll be back to picking people's brains again now that I actually have something..

Congratulations on your new truck. I have no doubts that it will live to drive again. They just need someone to give them the love that they deserve. Welcome back.

Sorry about the shattered plans before but I think this one has some real potential, and yeah I love that visor. Please say your gonna keep it on there. That is 1 of 2 things I'd love to have the other is the window evap cooler. Don't be shy with the pictures.

I have stated on the site in other posts that patience pays off. I waited and watched all of teh classifieds (about 20 different sites) and hit the jackpot with a southern truck with original sheet metal (except the tail gate), redone interior and a 351W.

Doesn't it feel great!

Later!

Thanks all and yes, it feels awesome. The visor will most definitely be kept. I'm very much into traditional style so this might just get lowered a little and that's about it for awhile. I"ll fix the couple of holes in the fenders, nothing terrible. Cab is awesome. Needs a tailgate. Going to do a wood bed in it, I have a couple hundred board feet of rough sawn hickory in my basement just waiting to become a bed floor.

So, not an F1 but you guys want to see what I got with it??

Congratulations on your F1, great looking truck, well worth the wait in reduced need for bodywork. Also that model A truck is sweet, I love model A's.

Congratulations on the finds. I always tell guys to buy the best sheet metal that you can find, more money up front but less total $ and work. There is "rust free" and then there is never rusted.

That's a beautiful AA truck. Doesn't look like it needs anything (something tells me that was the original intent). And welcome.

Ok, people might notice this headed southbound! Wish It had a cooler pull truck but I'll take it! How's this for kind of a once in a lifetime picture??

Congratulations on your, new to you acquisition, be careful with the exterior sun visor. I have one on my truck and once you start going over 55mph it starts to get hairy. I ended up reinforcing the underside of my roof with flat bars to stiffen up the middle where the center roof mount attaches. I made a template and contoured them to the roof profile. As my truck was already painted I used 3M body panel epoxy to glue the flat bars to the underside of the roof so that they would not be seen. Now I am good until about 80 mph, which I figure is okay since I can do interstate speed. If I want to test the extreme speed limits of my truck I will remove the visor for fear of damaging it.
