92 351w altitude change

I have just purchased an E150 from a guy in Utah. I was bought and sold in Utah. I have now moved it to Northern Cal at sea level. my question is does this vehicle have an attitude adjustment or is it sense the ambient air pressure and automatically adjust accordingly. I put Premium fuel in it yesterday about a half a tank, and now it stumbles and dies at idle when coming to a stop.
Thank you in advance for any help here.

I'm no expert but by '92 it would have to be EFI and computer controlled, knock sensors, O2 sensors and the rest of it, no altitude adjustment possible or necessary. Must be something else going on?

okay thank you, it does have EFI and all the stuff. bad thing is that my check engine light bulb is not working along with all the rest of the bulbs. except the battery light, turn signal indicators, and airbag light is constantly blinking. so the previous owner put a piece of black tape over it. so I don't know if I have a check engine light blinking or not.

Based on your other thread you can use a meter to count the flashes, replace the bulb in the cluster or invest in a code reader. Highly recommend the Equus 3145.

Do yourself a favor and buy a code reader instead of guessing what's going on. It's EFI, so you shouldn't need to do anything as far as altitude adjustments go. And stop buying premium fuel, that's a huge waste of dollars in this case. Only thing happened here was a bigger "lightening" of your wallet.

Thanks BADDAD457, I only tried premium gas to see if it made any differance in performance. so far NOT. I am going to try my existing code rader from BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices, but I am assuming it wont work because the 91 is OBDI and will have to purchase a different reader.

Your assumption is correct. That bluetooth reader will not work on a OBD1 vehicle.

I do have another reader and if I remember correctly,it does both OBDI and II. will have to dig it out of my tool box and try it out. see what I get. just have to get out of pain enough to get out of bed, climb the hill and get the van down to the driveway and check it out. cannot wait.

yes, it can adjust up 7000 foot altitude....there are oem software specific programs for altitudes above that. and yes I agree, pull the codes and diagnose it...it just might be a bad tank of gas, clogged filter, etc.

thank you for your response. I know that the fuel filter and pump are new as the van broke down in Reno on the way to me with a bad pump. My son drove it 900 miles and should have cleared out any bad gas it may of had. I did finally get the the check engine light working and have no check engine light blinking or staying on. it goes out as soon as it starts. so the stumble at idle is unknow cause at this point.
