hi installing a radiator in my truck,
attached it to the u shaped support, the rad seems to be leaning to the engine.
is this correct?

if the support has never been out, that's correct.

I have had it out striped the truck down to the frame.

It is a little hard to tell from this picture as the truck has a rake and it is on a slight slope but the radiator does lean to the rear as compared to the frame. You will know if it is OK when you install your inner fenders between the radiator support and the cab.
