weatherstripping install

installed some new weatherstripping and thought i'd share a few tips. the rubber kits can be a bit confusing and twisted out of the bag but luckily there are a few distinctive areas that contour the door.

-pull the doors, its much easier, i scratched on the hinge plate/mounting surface inside of the door [this is just a shop truck not a resto so you may need to seek other ways of marking the doors if you have in final paint mode]

-dry run with door attached.

with door off,
-laid a bead of black adhesive aka "la brea, in a tube" working in 6-8" segments, clothes pins pushing rubber into place. i bought one tube of adhesive and used it conservatively, it was enough for both doors with a little left over. note: it can be a mess to work with

-be sure not to stretch the rubber as you make those odd turns

-used my motorcycle lift to prop the door up while i aligned the hinge plate to the marks i scrawled on the door earlier. be sure to check how the door closes against the front qtr panel, too tight i'll rub and possibly chip the paint.

the doors fit good but i assume after the rubber smashes a bit the doors will be fine. all body lines are aligned and doors open/close with ease. it was a fairly painless project hope it helps someone.
