Question shackles / y-hangers — F1 vs. F3

How wide are F1 rear springs? It seems that the y-hangers for F3 are wider than F1, correct?

I'm mildly interested in the extended y-hangers (to lower rear) but most of these vendors don't indicate width.

Just to confirm though, the front springs are the same width (F1 vs. F3), right?

Thanks.

Exclamation P.S.

Also, the extended version seems to come with a bolt and rubber bushings instead of the spring pin and brass bushing... pros/cons?

Front springs are the same 1.75" width F-1/2/3. Rated differently for deflection rate, and 10 vs 8 leaf on the F-3.

Rears on F-1s are 2.00", F-2/3s are 2.25" wide. The stock F-2/3 hanger, 59Y 5776 is NLA last I knew. The 53-56 hanger, TBAA 5776-A, is available from Carpenter and probably the others as well. The F-250 has the same spring width as the F-2/3, but don't know whether the upper mount at the frame is the same width. If somebody has one of the TBAA hangers and posts the width of the upper mounting I'll compare it to one of my 59Y hangers and post the width. I have no knowledge of the aftermarket piece. Stu

thanks... per Stu's response, do you know if that latter one is the same width (i.e. are those two significantly different)?

i've found one other vendor that only has one in stock; they're using the part number F-5776-2 if that means anything to you, or if that is their own number.

so clearly the spring pins would be longer, too, on these F2/F3 hangers. glad i didn't order those yet as i would've ordered the (narrower) F1 ones.
