03 ford excursions tranmission question

I have a v8 5.4 2 wheel drive excursion. wanting to put in a v10 transmission from a 2000 2 wheel drive ford excursion. what do I need. I know the torque converters are different?


thank you in advance


transmission swap from V8 to V10. any comments? suggestions?

That's the only difference that matters. There are some internal differences, but it won't make any difference to you. But I'm pretty sure the V10 torque converter would work, it may or may not have a different stall speed. I don't know that part.

My Friend had me order a torque converter for a V8 he said, just to put it in the v10 transmission and that would work. what is your opinion.


the v10 has 6 bolts for the torque and mine (V8) only has 4 bolts

I didn't remember that. You will need to change the torque converter.

Change it to the V8 torque converter.
