Info/recommendations on a monitor, parameters to watch

After joining these forums and reading around a little bit I realize I need to purchase monitor and that it's vital to have one. So I've been doing some research and have narrowed it down to 3 monitors: insight cts2, insight pro cts2 and dashboss. Prices as of writing this are insight cts2 $350, insight pro cts2 $500, dashboss $170.

A little bit about my truck
2007 6.0 stock, fixing the dreadful things as they come up so far. 3 in lift and custom 17 in wheels with larger tires. I also do not plan on doing any engine or performance mods other then what is needed to keep the truck running.

The money between these 3 monitors isn't as big of a concern to me. I'm just wondering which one would suit me best. What are some pros and cons to each?

Also would like to know what parameters and the ranges to keep an eye on once I do get a monitor.

I've been learning so much about my 6.0 so far, thanks to FTE.

I welcome all other suggestions, comments as well. Thanks.

Do any of the performance tuners also act as monitors?

Even though the insight has great monitoring you would still want an Sct unit for tuning. Just the way it is. Best bet is a scan gauge and either dash boss or torque pro for monitoring stand alone ie: most economical way to go.

Norma----your aways away from needing a tuner 😀

My Dashboss is amazing as a monitoring tool. 24 parameters of live data at anyone time, recording data logs for reference when driving, performance logs from 0-60 etc, obd code reader, and alarm system to warn if your set parameters are exceeded.

Here's the page I use when traveling. I set up the rows top to bottom so I can view the logs in an organized manner, parameters together.

Both of you are welcome. This is the place for knowledge and everyone started out a dummy on these....especially me!! We like to see these bad boys monitored, fixed, kept up with and running hard. We don't like it when somebody throws in the towel due to lack of knowledge on how simple it is to have a great power plant. Sorry to the op for the high jack.

Lol ya sorry to hijack.

I bought a cheap Amazon obd2 wifi adapter and it talks to a dedicated android phone on my dash running torque app in my sprinter. It's kinda cool but doesn't seem to offer as much data as id like and some of the data it does offer is way out of whack. This is the only such device I've used though.

I use the torque pro and love it. Have 4 pages set up on mine. There is a thread in here somewhere that has the equations for setting up all the needed pids (I manually set mine up from that thread...didn't use the formula that torque has programed...make a big difference)
