New Member. 1979 F150 Lariat 4x4. VIN and Horn
Hey, guys. I just acquired a 1979 F150 Lariat 4x4. Bought by the Owner of a Ford Dealership in a rural town, kept in the family, and said to have spent it's life being maintained at that dealership. odometer reads 61K, which they say is original. Below is a picture of the truck and VIN.
My questions are
1) VIN identification or whatever info you guys can help with the cab sticker
2) The Horns on the cab have a large FORD decal running down the back of them. I saw an ordering pamphlet from the 70s that had a "double safety horn" option. . . could this have possibly been a specialty option or was this added aftermarket?
I don't have a close up picture of the horns, but I could add one later.
Also just included a couple other pictures just because I'm excited.
The little town i bought it in is an old railroad town, so the horns make sense! I love this truck and it is my daily driver now. I plan to start with brake lines and drive train, but ill save all that info for another post! Every time I climb in that cab, I just feel right at home. I feel so lucky to have found it.
Thanks for all y'alls help!

That's a great looking truck !!! You scored a gem!
F14 = F150 4WD
S - 400 CID
N - Norfolk, VA (Assembly Plant) (Same place mine came from!)
EJ2762 - Serial Number, EJ is in the 1979 year model
There should be another sticker in the door that has some more assembly/build options about the truck.

Ford had a dual horn option that included two horns, one high pitch and one low pitch. These were regular horns, one mounted in the standard location to the passenger side of the radiator support and the other mounted on the driver's side of the radiator support.
I believe the dual horns were standard on the XLT and Lariat models.
Ford also offered, as a dealer add on accessory, air horns. Although they were called "Air" horns, they actually operated off of engine vacuum.
Kit- "Air" dual horns, deluxe, chrome body
D7AZ-13800-A
EDIT: Out of curiosity, I checked, and one dealer still actually shows one kit in stock! Expensive though, over $300.00 list!

here is the door warranty tag. Knowing this information is a big part of developing a greater understanding of the truck quantitatively(through specs and dates), but also helps to complete aspects of the trucks history and that is a cool thing, indeed. Thanks again for yalls help and time in these forums.
