Does anyone have or know where I can find some original color engine bay pictures for a 78 or 79 V-8 F100/350? I'd like to see what the factory finishes were like on different things such as the brake booster, hinges, hinge springs, vacuum can, etc...

These are 73-74. All three are very low mileage, originals. Under the hood, things didn't change a lot through the years.
Surf the web for pics.... they're there if you look.
Yup, the inner fenders are actually treated to a process that's called "galvaneal". Both galvanize and galvaneal are a hot dip galvanizing process, the difference is the galvanealed pieces are annealed after the dipping. The final finish looks the same with either process.
When I refinished mine I used Rustoleum silver hammertone. It's lighter than the original panel but the finish and texture mimic the original.
The first picture is an original, cleaned up, the next two are one that's been sprayed with the hammertone.
Has anyone successfully cleaned up a set of inner fenders to reveal the original galvanized finish? Really don't want to paint mine but they look really crappy.
My inner fenders were dirty and dingy looking, they looked more light brown than galvanized. I used SOS pads and they cleaned up very good. It does take some time though.

I've tried every search term combo I can think of and am not having much luck - any ideas? Anyone ever seen any assembly line photos for this year range?
Probably not the from the angle you want but here's one.
Jackpot! I know it is a 73-76, but it is a Custom, and answers the questions I had about whether the tailgate letters should be painted and the finish of the tailgate handle assembly. Also, a good reference photo for under bed body color overspray.

That truck also has an optional spare tire. Back then spare tires weren't standard equipment, neither were the rear bumpers.
