TSB-15-0137. Fuel pump fuse.

What's involved in the install? Looks like you jump a larger port to the current location. How easy is the access to wire/solder this up?
Also-am I minimizing the parts in this kit by thinking anyone could DIY with a 20amp cube fuse and some basic crimp connectors? I'm off warranty so genuine isn't going to get me much unless you tell me its worth it. Hardly the most expensive thing so I guess I should just buy it, but curious...

I just had mine replaced at 125,000 miles - took the dealer several days to figure it out Quit on me several times. If this goes out on you, you can replace the fuel pump relay with another relay- that worked for me twice when it quit on me. I have an extended warranty so the cost was $100.

I just had this issue yesterday and truck would not start. I assumed it was a bad fuel pump and towed it to dealer as I am at 58K and hoped it was under powertrain warranty. Upon diagnosis, they found the fuse issue. $350 for diagnostics and repair. I wish I knew about this before, could have saved me over $300.

I did the TSB mod a couple months ago. $15 and less than an hour start/finish in my driveway. Didn't won't the nightmare happening to me for such a cheap/easy preventive fix.
I never could get a answer to my post #23 above so I went ahead on my 3.7v6 and did it.
No worries ever since.
This fix can be done for $5 or so with off the shelf parts.

Mine was stalling on and off for a week or so, highway speed, low speed, coasting accelerating. Couldn't get it to replicate. Got so bad it stalled 4 times in 1.5 miles
$350 later to relocate a fuse....this is something that should be covered as a recall. If the fuse is melting its getting hot enough to start a fire. A stall at 75 mph is scary enough. What if my wife had been driving my truck? it could have ended in an accident. You cant expect everyone to be able to maneuver a 5,500 pound truck without power when it falls flat on its face in under a second.

I suppose it may become a recall in time, not sure what the standard is, but I know the old 3.8 v6 head gaskets didn't start out as a recall and I paid $1,800.00 for a repair because Ford didn't recognize it as a large issue. 6 months later I got a check in the mail for the $1,800 because they changed the status?
For now I'll do it rather than risk a fire or accident.
