Seems the average height of American males today is 5' 9.5". Records of the Union Army show average height of its soldiers to be 5' 8.25". We really haven't gotten that much taller since the F series were introduced. Heavier, yes. Pickups were purpose built then. Now, they are daily drivers, status symbols, driveway dressing, and tools for compensation.

 

I'm 6' 2" and of sturdier build. I don't have a problem with space although I have noticed the steering wheel does take on moisture during winter storage and swells a bit. Last year the wheel actually shrunk a bit. Maybe it had something to do with losing 30 pounds, maybe.

 

Why then are my legs bowed around the steering wheel column
Makes it hard to shift and brake...
