Seems the average height of American males today is 5' 9.5". Records of the Union Army show average height of its soldiers to be 5' 8.25". We really haven't gotten that much taller since the F series were introduced. Heavier, yes. Pickups were purpose built then. Now, they are daily drivers, status symbols, driveway dressing, and tools for compensation.
