Factory shocks are terrible ( suck)

After 2200 miles, I like everything about my 6.2 F350 srw xcab except the shocks. It seems that when I go over a bump the rear launches up and then has some shock when going down. I had this problem with every Ford I have ever owned. What are you guys running? I have had good results with Bilstein.

I would have thought your truck would ride like a crown Vic loaded down with utility box pipe and trenching equipment.

I changed my shocks to Bilstein, didn't make much difference. What helps me is lowering the tire pressure to match the load when I drive it empty.

2 or 4 wheel drive
tow package
camper package
plow package.
what Trim package
what springs do you have
what size tires and wheels do you have.

YEAR of truck

no useful information provided.

and no car/truck in the past 50 years provide Good shocks on a New vehicle

except for the top of the line deluxe trim packages..

I run 40 psi in all 4 tires, EMPTY. my opinion.
and 65 front and 80 rear when loaded.

these are Work truckx and run Stiff Springs.. and shocks can not change that.

Either put more weight in it or swap to softer springs. Shocks aren't the problem. Mine rides very nice, but it's a lot heavier.

I don't know if Ford uses different shocks between the F250 and F350 but some aftermarket dealers do. It significantly reduced the rear end hammering on my 06 F350 when I switched to F250 Rancho's from F350's and didn't lose any stability loaded (3-4000lbs in the bed) or towing heavy.

Not recommending any brand of shocks it's just what is on my truck currently.

you need to look at the spring pack.. from side (tread) side of rear tires..

are the springs pressing on the helper spring perch? may need to add one extra spring.. to prevent engaging the helper springs.. Harsh...

also, I would go to the scales to know the weight on the axles.

When I first got my F350 the ride was hard empty and with the trailer pin weight on it (3400 lbs). After some miles pulling I beat the new out of the springs and it softened up some but it's a heavy duty truck so it will never ride like my F150 car truck. I like Monroe Gas Magnums for replacement shocks on my HD trucks.
