Question of the Week: Bedliner - yes or no?

For our newest Question of the Week, we want to know how many people run a bedliner in their trucks.

It seems that most trucks come with a bedliner as one of the "free perks" from the dealership, but some people prefer to not have one.

Tell us below whether or not you run a bedliner and why.

Truck came with plastic bed liner. Had them take it out and put in a spray in liner. Why? Extra protection and keeps my loads from sliding around.

The 2015/16 F150 5 1/2' bedliner (FL3Z-9900038-AA) MSRP: $317.99 - Dealer net cost: $222.59.

Based on the dealer cost, what dealer is going to give away a free genuine Ford bedliner? NONE!

I have yet to see one 2004/2016 F150 with a bedliner...with one exception. I bought one for my 2015, paid discount price of $270.00.

When I was working for a truck equipment installer we were getting bedliners from Penda liner for just under $100 each. They all had the ford logo on them as well. I believe penda liner still manufactures the liners for ford.

At some point Ford stopped selling the liners thru the aftermarket suppliers and made them dealer only items, but you could still get the same exact bed liner without the ford logo for the same money. We used to sell the liner installed for $150-199 depending on the upfit.

It is certainly an avenue any dealer could peruse if they or ford were so inclined.
