Brake rotors part 2

I had an earlier thread about rotor & hub on my 95 F150 4x4. NAPA guy is trying to confuse me. He says he's not sure if I can just replace rotor without buying entire rotor/hub assembly. He says its according to what kind my truck has. So I came home and yanked the front wheel off. I think it looks like 2 pieces. Does anyone see any reason I can't buy rotors and use my old hub? Thanks again for any help.

Yes you can buy just the rotors. But you have to take your hub off / apart to change it. rotor isput on from the back side. You have to drive out the lug bolts but the new rotor on and drive them back in and reassemble hub.

Being that your truck is a 95 it should be the two piece set up. Make sure you have or rent an axle nut wrench because you have to remove the lockout hub assembly, axle nut, wheel bearing. You also need to pound studs out as well. I think thats about it but its been a long time since I worked on this trucks. I havent got that far in mine yet.

If your rotor has enough meat on it you can just remove the hub/rotor assembly from the spindle, remove the inner wheel seal and bearing, and take it in to a local shop to be turned. Make sure you clean up the grease from the inner bearing real well because they will chuck up against the inner bearing race to turn them

Much cheaper, much less work, essentially brand new rotors, $30 out of your pocket.
