My 55 F350 got hit today!

Yes, you read that right, but I thank God it is not too bad.

Here is how it happened. I was mowing (for the first time in three weeks due to the drought in central PA) at our 14 acre soccer complex. I saw a SUV try to get to the river via a private campground but their gate was closed. They turned around and went through our parking lot to get to another private campground and were joined by a Chevy suburban. Then a pickup loaded with kayaks joined them . They saw they could not enter there so they backed up into our parking lot. I was watching this as I was mowing with our Kubota zero turn. I saw the suburban was getting close to my truck. I high tailed it towards my truck. I saw my mudflaps shake and i knew he hit my truck! By the time I got to my truck he was out of his suburban being very apologetic and sorrowful. He said he was backing up nad was watching his brother-in-law car and got too close to mine. Pics will follow in the next post.

Well that sucks. Always a bummer when you work hard on something and some dingaling messes it up for you. Watched a car back into my 74 FLH one day while I was in paying for the gas I just bought. Could have shot them on the spot. Hopefully they have insurance.

This is our huge parking lot with only one vehicle parked on it. My truck was the only vehicle in our huge lot, I'm guessing it is just under one acre in size.

The corner of my bed hit his tailgate and my bed won.

Your truck was the only vehicle out there? My word. What are the odds. At least it's not all smashed up.

I am just thankful he did not hit anything that can't be fixed or bought new like the running board and that there were no huge dents like in the door.

His rubber bumper surround and left tailight hit my truck. Most of the damage is is scuff marks but there is a dent in the rear quarter panel and some gouges and deep scratches.

His tailgate got a huge dent from my bed corner....

So, Old Ford Truck versus new Chevy and teh Ford won!

They were from out of town adn looking for a place to put in their kayaks. You'd think they would research it first to see were the state has public access.

Yes, he gave me his agents name and number and his insurance number. I called his agent when I was done mowing and he had already called in to get the process started. The girl said an adjuster will call me within 24-48 hours.

That's a bummer. Sometimes you really wonder what people are thinking when they have that much room to turn around in and they hit the only thing possible to hit!!

Yes, it could have been worse. I am glad he didnt hit the front fender or smash the grille! Hmm, if he did I have a spare 54 grille... wouldn't that look nice?

sorry to about your truck...

It makes me think of basically any time I park my truck. I can park at the end of a lot, completely alone. walk a mile.... to get into a store...

Finish shopping.... and my truck is surrounded.

Have you contacted your insurance co. - His co might try an fudge the estimate because it's "just an old truck"
