Stooopid battery tray question for 48/49/50

I cannot believe I am asking this but - does the battery tray for a straight 6 work on the other side for a flat 8? I seem to have alignment issues trying to get the tray into the passengers side but wanted to make sure before I look at getting a new one as my truck came with a 6 but I put in a flathead 8.....

Thanks and be kind!!

Yes, the battery tray for the 8 cyl. is on the passenger side while the tray for the 6 cyl. is on the drivers side. The trays are different in that the mounts are set up so they fit the frame properly depending on what side they mount. I believe the heights are slightly different as well.

I got a new V-8 tray from Northern Classic Trucks. They actually make them.
