Unhappy Replacement Vacuum Regulator Valve for my 7.3L C6

Hey guys...bought my 89 F250 a year ago and LOVE it. Have replaced the modulator and get good vacuum but still cannot get the truck to shift correctly. Have adjusted the VRV numerous times and get reasonable shift from 1st to 2nd but shift to 3rd is at 2900 RPM. Then it tends to shift back into 2nd easily with angry load. Have also checked the detent. Any thoughts? Also, if it sounds like I need to replace the VRV does anyone know where I can find one?? Have looked a bit with no luck. Thanks in advance!! Dennis

welcome to FTE. VRV's are currently made of unobtanium.
it almost sounds like your downshift lever may be sticking.

i know this is an older Thread but that shifting issue is exactly what my truck is doing right now. What did you ever find was the cause in your truck? Mine used to have the kickdown hang up but it's fine now and the issue is somewhere else. It's getting worse and I need to drive the truck everyday so any help is greatly appreciated 1987 f350 6.9 C6

Try re-calibrating your VRV then adjust it per the adjustment instructions. See my thread that I started recently.
