well the shop im having do it wants nothing down. and is replacing all the springs and foam. so it will virtually be a brand new seat. and seeing as it was in a 1987 F350, both front and back seats were matched, so im thinking it was factory. i know the seat bracket is really heavy duty and all three seats adjust, and the wood on the console is real wood, not plastic with a photographed of wood. my truck has the fake wood trim around the dash and climate control clusters so im trying to match it, gives me something to do. anyway its my story and im sticking to it.try doing a twelve thousand dollar roof with nothing down. what can i do if they dont pay, well i can lean there property, lot of good that does, if they sell it ill get my money. anyway i like the all new foam and springs. by the way, no money down gives the upholstery shop a little more incentive to get the job done.

Seats aren't factory. The 3rd party conversions almost always would match the front/rear seats.

well i was going to take them to a shop up town, $950.00, but just finished a job for a home owner and when i mentioned it he told me the shop i was going to screw*d him and a few friends on doing some golf cart seats, said they didn't last 2 years before coming apart. he showed me a seat that another upholster did for him and they look great. she also does upholster for a few casinos nearby. shes not bad on price, $750.00 - $800.00. she also said the foam would have to be replaced, thats a good sing that she want to do a good job. i drop it off tomorrow. now the only question is weather to have her copy the design, but in greys, or have the front , upper and lower seat, completely in fabric and no vinyl. just have vinyl around the edges.

I'll say one more time before giving up, it's really not worth the money to get these seats reupholstered. With the seat tray you have, you can probably fit almost any set of seats you might find at the junkyard. The price you paid was a good price for the seat tray alone. I'd dumpster the seats you have and look for a nice set of newer seats at the U-Pull-It.

our pick-a-part has almost nothing, and we only have one, not much to choose from. i did the same thing with my old 55 f100, went to pick-a-part and grabbed a a seat that would fit, took it right over and had it re-upholstered. i could spend the next 10 years waiting for our local yard to get a pair of seats in that id like. thats ok, ill just have these done, they were in a f350, they fit the tracks and they will have all new foam, be as new. im happy with the decision ive made. you know you can do the same thing if your tranny goes out, go to p-a-part and get one, i had mine rebuilt. i drop my seat off today. glad i have before pictures.

and i dont see how you can say it not worth having reupholstered, a new seat, one that i like, to my door is $1200.00. ofcourse thats new. and some one must be buying new seats or they wouldnt be making them.problem there is i dont know the quality of the material ot the strength of there frames, and they dont have a adjustment for the center/console, it is fixed. no with what im doing i at least i know what i have. and i get the fabric i want, if i choose leather or vinyl for the outer edges, well its what i want and not what ever is on the junkyard seat. its what i want and im sticking to it.

well received a text form the upholster yesterday, she has started on my seats. should be ready by next Friday. she does upholstery at one of the local casinos full time so she has to do my seat on her off time. told her i wanted them just like the original but in grey's. i already refinished the wood console.

have a question about the seat belt in the center. my bench has the slots for the belt and the female ends which have a hard plastic twisted sleeve as to hold them in place. my replacement seat doesnt have the slots for them. what has anyone done about there center belts, i was thinking about running a bolt though the center of each and into the back of the frame.

If you actually want the belts to be safe, they need to be anchored to the truck's frame, not the seat frame - which is how the factory belts are setup.

cant remember exactly but remember seeing the seat belts laying on the floor after seat was out. guess they were just the belt end loosely. been thinking about putting a bolt in the hard plastic as to hold them in the right position as they were. have to figure it out hen i get the seat back form upholster.

Not a very good idea if you actually want the seat belt to do its job

the end of the center belt is bolted to the body behind the seat. im sure the manufacturers knew what they were doing. just thought some one else had gone though when installing bucket seats.
