Can only sand for a few hours at a time need a break from this heat. Work all day with my head under a hood fixing cars then come home and try to block sand. Theres not enough cold beer to make this any easier. Was 29 today tomorrow 31. Going on here for all most a month now.
My hat is off to all you guys blocking in the heat. It's bad enough in mild weather, much less with dust and sweat mixing together making it mud-iserable.
How do you block without going through? Are you supposed to apply a few coats of primer and then sand?
This is something I will be doing for the first time in a few months, so any advice is definitely appreciated.
I did all my body work on bare metal then applied epoxy primer. After that I sprayed a couple coats of Slicksand which is a product that Evercoat makes, I blocked that out with long boards and filled in any imperfections with Spotlight, another Evercoat product, and have now sprayed a couple coats of high build primer for the final blocking before paint..
Not that it makes any less blocking necessary but you can use different color tracer coats between your coats of primer so when you hit the first tracer applied you know your almost though and you can reapply without burning though your etch coat .
Just picked up some motivation. Left work early today and pick up my order from Pros Picks. ( I live 20 mins away)Just spent $2000.00 on interior, bumper , wiper motor etc. its 32 right now so here goes.
