New to this site. I have a 1995 f350 crew cab with a 7.3 and auto. Rust took over so I bought a 1997 f350 crew cab 7.3 5 speed rust free no drive train to swap my 95 running gear in to. Door says manufactured 1996 and month 6.

I have it all hooked up but have no throttle response. The check engine light on. I hook a reader to it and it reads data link connection problem.

There is a wire gray with red stripe on the 95 engine is believe to be a 5 volt wire to the sensors, when it gets battery voltage of 13 volts and starts to smoke and melt wire. I have to cut wire in half to make idle. If they touch engine dies instantly.

I cannot find a color coded wiring schematic that can show me which pins need to be moved to make this all work.
Please help

None were cut. There just seems to be a difference between the 1995 engine and connecting it to the 1996.5 chassis. It runs and idles fine. No throttle response. Thank you for the diagram.
