...With or without bypass regulator and return line?

Describe your system.

I have a 400 8.8 cp, edlebrock 1405, edlebrock performer intake.
I have a regulator set at 5.5 psi.
Want to get away from the mechanical pump, looking for a good dependable electric pump

Carter 4070. It's dead reliable and quiet. I'm running one as a lift pump to feed the surge tank on a fuel injected motor. Itll be plenty of fuel pump unless you have a wild built engine. Most parts stores can get one or you can order from summit or jegs.

I found it on summits site. Try part number crt-p4070. It looks identical to the one you linked but the 4070 puts out 72gph flow vs 50 from the one you linked. It said it would ship today so they have them in stock.

I'm running a Carter P4070 fuel pump (from Summit). Very happy with it. I initially tried an Airtex, but it didn't inspire confidence

Mounted it inside the frame, just ahead of the switching valve. Later added a regulator on the inner fender

Does the extra capacity make a difference in a (relatively stock) carbureted engine? Like, maybe runs cooler or something like that? Longevity?

The 72gph unit is only like 5 bucks more...just wondering if there was an advantage to it.

Submersibles run cooler and last longer and are pretty much required equipment on a FI engine where the fuel pressure required to run the injectors is much (MUCH) higher.
They're also expensive and require unnecessary surgery on a carbureted application.

Yes in tank will be cooler. The reason why I want a frame mount is in case Im off roading with someone and I need some gas or something I can pull the fuelline easier to get fuel.

I remember wheeling with my dad back in the day and he pulled the fuel line so he could use it to pour into another persons carb to get it to run.
If though I carry a extra gas can, It might be nice .
