Hi folks, let me start off by saying I absolutely hate wiring.
That said let me explain what I've got going on.
1975 F250 Super Cab with 460
Steering column in it came from some other year, and I couldn't tell me which one. Wiring was absolutely skoocheded and so was the turn signal cam Schootcher-ma-bob.
Went to Napa Auto Parts in picked up a aftermarket turn signal assembly, yeah the column is actually that bad.
It's NAPA part LIT 900. Get the thing home and set it aside for a couple of days and now of course it's a Sunday and now does not open. Absolutely no instructions with the thing whatsoever.
Looking online at wiring diagrams makes me remember why I hate wiring! The LIT 900
And here is my pigtail connection from the column. Steering column pigtail
So can somebody pretty please walk me through this nice and slow and what each wire is for on the 900 and what each wire is for on the steering column pigtail please, pretty please, pretty pretty pretty please!
Did I mention how much I hate steering column wiring? LOL!
I will be of no help, but I definitely feel your pain. I hate wiring, and my dent has had 5 generations of car stereos hacked into place, goofy old man lights spliced in (running boards, spotlights, foglights, roof, under bumper, etc) a snow plow and a winch wired by people who should've never had access to tools in the first place. Literally house wiring with the ends twisted together and covered in scotch tape. Battery terminals with nails hammered into them. Fuse box with screws for fuses. Nightmarish.
New wiring harness comes next week, ill let ya know how that goes.
Do you have a parts yard (PicknPull, etc) nearby? If they have a dentside available with the column intact, it might be worth it to take notes. If your harness in the column is connected, you can determine which wire goes where by using an ohmmeter. Just takes time and notes. Is the pigtail coming out of the column stock? If so, it should be in a wiring diagram in a repair manual.

yes to pick n pull bit no to finding really any pre 80 fords. When there there usually bare...
Should i get a haynes or Chilton manual? Had one for my 79 but its been lost to the ages somewhere.
Pigtail went to a gray connection under dash just to the left of the column.
Wish i was home to snap some more pics.
Isnt there just a conversion chart for ford to LIT wiring somewhere to be had?
Good. Do you know how to use a volt/ohm meter? If so, you can figure which is the hot wire with the key switch in the run position( motor off, if possible). After determining hot wire, the wires to steering column can be determined doing an ohm check. If you haven't used an ohmmeter, it probably best to use the manual for wire reference.
